Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Corey is a native Tarheel. He taught 9th & 10th grades in Prince George's County, then served as youth pastor for five years before receiving his first appointment in 2004. Corey attended Liberty University and completed his Doctor of Ministry at Fuller Theological Seminary.
Pastor Corey met his wife Julie while he was a youth pastor in Frederick. Together they enjoy pickleball both as a church mission and for fun. They have four children, Jacob, Abigail, Nora, and Eli.
As followers of Jesus, we take responsibility for our growth. We are patient with ourselves and one another. We are always in a posture of learning. God's grace is unearned, but we do not wait to experience it: we engage in what early Methodists called the means of grace.
At Mt Zion, we invite you to take your next step with us.
What is your next step? A Message from Pastor Corey
We seek to create a safe, loving place where everyone can explore a relationship with God.
There are vital elements of faith that aren’t experienced in solitude. We gather weekly to focus on God, learn from God’s Word, encourage one another, and be grounded for the week.

We are here for your children.
We love all children and we want to provide them with opportunities to experience God’s love.
We offer childcare for infants - 5 years during both the 8:30 and 11 AM services.
We have a Children’s Sunday School for 1st - 5th graders at 9:45 - 1045 AM.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”. - Romans 12:2
Groups provide safe spaces to grow in times of isolation. Learning basic Christian beliefs, diving deeper into the Bible, and exploring special topics helps us navigate life together.
We imitate Jesus, who "came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). There are great needs and opportunities to serve inside and outside the church walls.
Ministry is for everyone. We experience transformation when we find new ways to live out our calling by using our God-given gifts. A small act of service can have a huge impact.
